A day off and some fun

Well, we have been running around town getting things taken care of, but before that we spent a whole day finishing up the last coat of stain on the house. It looked like rain, but we were lucky to get a few sun breaks instead. She is all sealed up and ready for a really good rain shower, hehe. Now it’s time to head inside and start working!
We used Dap Dynaflex 230 Brown for sealing up the gaps in the siding. It’s great stuff, dries fast and is paintable. It goes on a little lighter than our stain, but we put the final coat of stain on after it was all dry, and it looks great!
So, that was Day 52 of our adventure, Day 53 would have to wait since it was my birthday!!!
I had a great Birthday, woke up with a phone call from my Dad! soon followed a call from my favorite Father In-Law as well as a nice phone call from my newest Sister, Stephanie. And a few text messages from my brothers and a lovely friend (Becca). Thank you all for remembering my birthday, it really means a lot to me (Smiles)
Chris and I spent the day running around town taking care of some tiny house shopping that needed to be done. We went and picked up our interior siding, Knotty Pine was the winner. Got a great deal on it at Dunn Lumber in Everett, WA but unfortunately they didn’t carry all that we needed, but the location in Lynnwood had more than enough. We headed down to pick it up and bring it out to the house. Then we were off to Grilla Bites for lunch. I told Chris the only thing I wanted to do on my birthday was to eat at Grilla Bites... amazing food!
While we were at the cafe, I notice this flyer on the door advertising the Snohomish Farmer’s Market and realized it was going on and we were sure to go! It actually happened to be two blocks away from where we were, so we just walked over and picked up some wonderful fresh organic veggies. And yes, our fridge is full of only organic local farmed veggies... we eat very healthy... we want many happy years with each other : )
After the Farmer’s Market we heading back to the apartment to drop off the goods then we were on the road again heading down to Seattle to pick up a Princess Two Burner Stove Top as well as made a stop at IKEA to pick up our new thinner bed. The Memory Foam bed we had was 12 inches thick, this one is only 5.5 inches thick and will work much better up in our loft!
Also Picked up some Tung Oil for the Interior Pine... we are going to make it extra pretty! And some wood glue to make sure the T&G stay together, since the wood is known to expand and shrink with temp.
All in All... I had a great Birthday! I had my wonderful husband by my side, so who could ask for more : )
Thanks again to those who thought of me on my very special day!!! Hugs and Kisses!
