Wow, May has come and gone so fast. Total of sunny days to work- One, hehe. We thought we would have the subfloor done by now, but the rain is keeping us from going to much further. But that’s okay, since there are still a few things that Chris and I need to figure out. We’ve made about 10 trips to Home Depot for little things here and there, and that’s only in one month... hehe. Well, we have high spirits on the progress, and are excited for the forecast of sun in June!

 Day One of our Adventure.

We were lucky to have a nice sunny day on the first day of our build, which was Friday May 20th 2011.

Chris set up his camera and shot 7 hours of us putting our tools together and starting on the tarpaper and aluminum flashing.

At one point we didn’t have the right length of screws, so Chris had to make a trip to Home Depot. But once he was back, we were able to get a good amount of work done for just the two of us!

Chris battery pooped out on us at the end of the day, so what you don’t see is us working in the dark. We were out there for about 7 hours, right up to 10:30 pm.

We are making our subfloor out of 2x6 since we want to achieve a high R Value for insulation. More to come on our choice of insulation..... I’ll let you ponder on that one :P
