Working on the Window

Yesterday, Chris and I spent most of the day putting in some of the windows. We started work around 1 pm and called it an early day around 8 pm. We were able to put in 5 more windows, which brings us to a total of 7 windows so far ( 5 more to go ). I’ve never put a window in before... or build a house for that matter... but everything is a learning process and I’m loving it. The windows look amazing...  I didn’t even realize that we got Double Hung Windows over Single Hung... so excited!!

Chris started work on the Rough Opening for the Skylight. We had some trouble with the Flashing Kit for the Skylight. It seems that most flashing kits are designed for roofing tiles and not corrugated roofs, so we had to order through a local store. So, as of right now, we have to wait to install the Skylight till the right flashing kit comes in. We were able to at least get everything set for when we are ready to put it in.

Working on the windows was a big step for us... I know, with all that we have been able to do, why windows. If done wrong... water issues, and we really don’t want that. Flashing and installing a window isn’t that technical, but it’s important to do it right the first time. We used a product called

DuPont™ FlexWrap™

it’s a seamless weather wrap system... no cracks... no leaks!
